Leaves crunched beneath Nomi's feet as she traversed the forest, golden and red hues greeting her as she made her way deeper within. Several Unown trailed behind her, the symbol Pokemon bobbing up and down in the dappled light, one in particular shining a brilliant blue.[break][break]
She stopped abruptly. The Unown clustered around her, awaiting instruction.[break][break]
"Let's discuss assignments," she declared.[break][break]
Nu floated forward. "Mt. Chimney, please. We need to continue keeping an eye out for Moltres."[break][break]
It blipped out of existence, heading to the requested destination.[break][break]
Next came Alpha, who Nomi sent to Granite Cave to watch the entrance to the Ultra Deep Sea: the League was up to something there, operatives coming and going quite frequently as of late.[break][break]
Sigma to Ever Grande, to spy on the League Council. Vin to the Ancient Tomb, to look for any remaining clues in the wake of the conflict there. Watt to the Silent Icelands.[break][break]
Finally, only Kallistatus was left.[break][break]
Nomi hesitated.
"I..." She faltered. "I need you to look for someone."

"We need to find Isaac," she explained softly, chest aching at the mention of the newest Rocket defector.[break][break]
The last time she'd seen Isaac Merlo - through Kallistatus's eye - he'd been in Petalburg Woods with Suicune. She still couldn't believe the Johtonian God was in Hoenn, but her brain had swiftly pushed aside the disbelief in favor of the very logical conclusion that Isaac had been chosen as an Avatar...same as she had.[break][break]
Holo had been right all along.[break][break]
No, not exactly, Nomi reminded herself. Holo had called her The Architect, but that's not what the Unown called her. Holo had called Isaac the Purifier, but Nomi felt suddenly absolutely certain that title was not what Suicune called him.[break][break]
A rustling caused Nomi to jolt in surprise, heart nearly leaping from her chest. It wasn't another Rocket come to punish her for her transgressions, however: it was merely a wild Yamask, adorned with a silver mask instead of a gold one. Curious. Nomi threw a safari ball at it.

Kallistatus stared blankly at Nomi, waiting. She wrung her hands, didn't meet its eye. She knew it was waiting for further explanation. Like parker jones, it did not wish to put her in harm's way.[break][break]
"I know it's dangerous," she began. "But Isaac is important, Kal. Holo said the DRK Triad has had to kill him in every universe. I'm not betraying Rocket, this isn't about helping the League. It's about making sure things happen differently this time."[break][break]
She paused, gathered her resolve.[break][break]
"We all need to survive what's coming, so we need to change the narrative."[break][break]
Kallistatus regarded her, its expression thoughtful. It turned, dawn by a sound, but this time Nomi was prepared for another wild Pokemon to appear. She threw a Safari ball at the shiny emerald Zubat before it had any chance to bother them.

Kallistatus bobbed up and down in agreement. Nomi let out a sigh of relief, a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding onto so tightly.[break][break]
"Suicune may notice you. If it does, try not to interfere. Show it that you are not a threat. I think it...has some sort of connection to you, doesn't it?" To the Unown as a collective, she meant. Kallistatus blinked, as if contemplating her hypothesis.[break][break]
A cawing heralded the flurry of feathers as a Murkrow landed on a nearby branch. It glared at Kallistatus as if offended by the shiny Unown's presence. Nomi was surprised to see that it was a brilliant shining purple instead of the usual dull black. Another interesting find. She hurled one of her two remaining Safari Balls at it.

Kallistatus drifted all the way over to Nomi's face, then touched her forehead with one of its K-shaped limbs. As it did, she got a sudden flash of intuition, of understanding. It would do as she asked. Not only that, it believed in her. It shared her resolve.[break][break]
She smiled softly. Parker would be angry, but Nomi would help her understand. And when she finally confronted Isaac, she'd...[break][break]
Well, she didn't know exactly.[break][break]
A shiver passed through her as Kallistatus blinked out of existence. Alone in the forest, Nomi listened to the chirps and clicks of the wildlife that surrounded her. After several long moments, she turned on her heel and began to walk back the way she had originally come. As she did, she nearly tripped over a small creature directly in her path.[break][break]
A blood red Tarountula, staring up at her expectantly. An omen, she thought. For or good or for ill?[break][break]
She threw her last remaining Safari Ball.
